Getting ready to change my life....
Working on the Quantum Wellness jump-start cleanse. I’m on Day 3. No animal products, no sugar, no caffeine, no gluten, no alcohol. No alcohol is no biggie, since I don’t drink. I’m finding that the gluten part goes MUCH deeper than just avoiding wheat. Seems like EVERYTHING has some kind of gluten in it. The caffeine thing is about killing me at this point - though it has certainly pushed me into bed earlier than I EVER go normally. I fantasize about Coke constantly (I’m truly a Coca Cola ADDICT). Cheese is another thing that is driving me insane.
Honestly, I hope I feel better after cleansing - and hopefully I’ll be a few pounds lighter too!!
Had such high hopes....
Took the 6 yr. old to baseball tryouts this evening. Mostly to let him hit off a pitching machine or a decent pitcher and to maybe learn a thing or two. Apparently baseball isn’t much like soccer (the only team sport I’ve had to deal with YEAR AFTER YEAR of tryouts).
In soccer, they have the kids doing stuff constantly. The more they are playing, the more the coaches see what the kid has got going for them. Apparently that doesn’t hold true in baseball - at least not for the club he went to tonight. Those kids stood around doing NOTHING for about 1 hr. and 50 mins. out of the 2 + hours they were there. I didn’t even stick around for the spiel about the phone calls on team selection, etc.
He is a year younger than these kids, but loves baseball and has been able to hit a pitch (rather than off a tee) since he was about 3 1/2. So I figured this would just be some fun baseball playing in a non-game setting with people who supposedly know how to coach. He had fun, though apparently the other kids called him a midget - I love that it just rolls off his back. It kills me that people with 7 year olds take this crap so seriously! I thought soccer was pretty ridiculous - but I guess it is ALL sports!
Lazy dayz....
Did nothing but lay on the couch with my laptop today and find all sorts of things to add to my reader and to think about trying to do. Went out for Mexican food and ran into a couple that I was friends with in college (over 20 years ago)! Hadn’t seen them in centuries!!! Love running into old friends outta the blue!
Happy 4th!!! LOVE the smell of sulfur in the air!
Had some great friends over on the 3rd to eat and blow things up! It was great FUN!! Today, just chilled with the little man and spent a great deal of time figuring out something fun to do to earn a few extra bucks! I’ll keep you posted on that - since I haven’t been able to narrow down my options….
